The following are insights I’ve picked up over the years. The quotes are original (to the best of my knowledge), but the ideas most certainly are not.

“By giving up the shame of being imperfect, we give ourselves the internal space that is necessary for working towards perfection.”

“If you expect yourself to be perfect, you will expect others to be perfect as well. To fully love others, you must first fully accept and love your imperfect self.”

“All good comes from God. Your creative works, good deeds, and successes are the result of God flowing through you. Always give credit where credit is due: this is the key to avoiding pride.”

“There is no such thing as failure. In reality, every “failure” is simply a necessary stepping stone on the path to success. Success is the result of not giving up halfway along the path.”

“In order to be happy in a relationship, you must first learn how to be happy being single. If you can’t live with yourself, how do you expect someone else to be able to live with you?”

“If you can’t be happy when you’re single, it means you expect your partner to make you happy. It is not your partner’s job to make you happy, it is your job.”

“The only permanent thing in life is God’s love. Everything else is temporary. To be happy, do not become attached to anything that is temporary.”

Inner Peace

“All desire originates from the pain of separation from God. Any attempts to fulfill our desires lead nowhere. Only in reconnecting with God can we exchange pain for love, and eliminate desire.”

“When you find yourself in the dark, it is the light within that will bring you peace.”

“God approves of you. Always. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you’ve done. When you realize this, you will stop seeking approval from others, because you already have all the approval you need.”

“We cannot directly control what happens to us. But we can control how we respond to what happens to us.”

“Forgiveness is not the act of telling someone you forgive him. This implies the other person is guilty of something. To truly forgive, you must clear your heart of the belief that the other person has wronged you.”

“There is nothing more dangerous in the wrong hands than the truth.”

“Truth is alive and ever changing. To attempt to codify truth into a set of rules or dogma is to kill truth.”
